Mom’s Night Out is a member favorite! Get out of the house and have dinner or a drink with some gal pals. We schedule these outings each month hitting various spots around town. Examples of mom’s night out include dinner out, trivia, live music.

Love it or hate it … read it or didn’t read it … come to Book Club and discuss it.  Our group book club is a laid-back group of avid readers. We read all genres, anything interesting is fair game.  We meet monthly to discuss the book and often tangent into regular conversation.

Past titles include but are not limited to:

The Nightingale, Black Cake, Come As You Are, Thursday Murder Club, People We Meet on Vacation, The Maid, The House in the Cerulean Sea, Fourth Wing, The Anxious Generation, The Other Mothers, and One in a Millennial.

If you are mom to a little, playgroups are the easiest way to get to know members of our group in a low key setting. You get time with other moms and your child gets to play! Win – win.

Playgroups typically meet weekly in a member home, library, area parks (weather permitting) or other public location. These are private events and open only to members of Moms of Grand Rapids.

Once you become a member of our group you get access our members-only Facebook group that serves as our communication hub, giving you access to our activity calendar, recipe archive, and post forums.  The chat topics are a wealth of knowledge right at your finger tips. The online forum can be lifeline to ask other mothers those pressing kids/family questions when you can’t get out of the house for face to face events. We are never lacking for moms willing to share their knowledge or experience.

Movies, crafts, bonfires, and holiday themed parties are examples of the low-key mom’s night in events we host. Generally we reach out to current members to see if anyone is interested in hosting and let them take it from there.

Impromptu events are created by members and shared in our member-only Facebook group. Going to a playground in the afternoon? Feel free to share it with other members so they can tag along. The more the merrier!

Game nights are such a blast! These events are scheduled a bit ad hoc within the group but typically occur once every couple of months.

You know that half-finished scarf that’s been sitting around for months, and you’re just too busy to finish? Or that craft you’ve always wanted to try, but didn’t have any time? Welcome to Craft Night! Bring your own craft supplies, color in one of the provided adult coloring books, or just hang out. This is YOUR night.

Board members are elected by the membership and meet every month to discuss membership numbers, budget, and upcoming events. It sounds boring, but it’s actually pretty fun! Prospective and current members are welcome to join the board for these meetings and give their input on new event ideas.
